Development and Production Norway (DPN) is an operator and partner on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS), responsible for managing the NCS resources in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner, creating value for our owners, suppliers and the people of Norway. Equinor has a solid position on the NCS.
We operate fields of all sizes, from giants such as Troll, Statfjord and Gullfaks, to small fast-track projects tied to existing infrastructure.
Our ambition is to ensure at least 60% recovery from the fields on the NCS. Our products are marketed and sold on the global market, and our production has made Norway one of the world’s leading oil and gas exporters.
Our top priority is safe, efficient and sustainable operation to pursue our long-term profitable production from the NCS.
Technology, projects and drilling (TPD) is our business area responsible for research and technology, project development, drilling & well and procurement.
Being responsible for the corporate technology implementation and project development puts us in the centre of making Equinor a competitive company facing the low carbon future.
We are responsible for all phases of project development such as early-phase concept evaluation, engineering, construction, installation and decommissioning/removal.
Our project portfolio consist of traditional oil and gas projects balanced with new energy.

To thrive in the energy transition, we aim to maintain our position as an industry leader in carbon-efficient oil and gas production and grow in new energy solutions – and our ambition is that by 2030 15-20% of our investments will be in new energy solutions.
Today, we are involved in offshore wind farms that provide one million households with renewable energy.
We operate three wind farms off the coast of the UK: the bottom-fixed Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon offshore wind farms as well as the world’s first floating wind farm – Hywind Scotland.
We are also engaged in large-scale wind projects across the UK, Germany and the US, and with our partners we’re exploring the possibilities of supplying oil and gas platforms with renewable energy from floating wind turbines on the NCS.
We are also venturing into solar and are also exploring low carbon solutions such as CCS and hydrogen.
